Series Great New Zealand River Journeys explored the history and majesty of three rivers. In this episode comedian Jon Gadsby follows the Clutha River all the way from the Southern Alps to the coast near Balclutha. On the way he gets firsthand experience of bungy jumping, jet boating, and rafting (at which point the cameraman falls off the raft). Gadsby tours the Clyde Dam, visits Cromwell before the old town ends up underwater, and meets pioneer winemaker Verdun Burgess, at "the southern most vineyard in the world". As Gadsby nears the mouth of the river, he is glad to get his own mouth around some whitebait fritters.
